Zhao Lei: Build a bridge of mutual trust in technology to help the rapid development of the commercial aerospace TT&C industry
With the networking and operation of giant constellations, satellite debris and garbage in space will increase day by day in the future, and private satellite TT&C companies may face some challenges. As for how to ensure the safe operation of satellites in orbit, Zhao Lei, the founder of Emposat, gave measures and solutions for satellite in-orbit services at the China Aerospace Conference-Commercial Space Industry International Forum.
Zhao Lei said that with the increase in the number of satellites, the workload of aerospace satellite TT&C services will inevitably increase. At present, Emposat serves most of the commercial satellites in China. As the number of service satellite constellations increases, the factors that the company needs to consider will be more comprehensive and the dimensions will be more abundant. For example, problems such as flying around between satellites and constellations, precise orbit control, etc., setting up massive data downlink channels for business-oriented satellites and ensuring data security, multi-constellation mission planning, inter-satellite communication, etc. Emposat will cooperate with domestic aerospace subdivision experts and enterprises, use existing business cooperation channels and its own technical advantages to build a bridge of mutual trust in technology, and help the development of the entire commercial aerospace TT&C industry.
In the future, with more and more satellites in orbit, more and more space debris will be generated, and the removal of space debris has become an urgent problem to be solved. Therefore, in the future, every field in the commercial TT&C system will become more subdivided and specialized, and satellite users will have higher requirements for the professionalism of TT&C. Based on such needs, on the basis of the TT&C and calibration business that Emposat has done since last year, it has cooperated with top technical experts from NPU to establish Sanyuan Aerospace, focusing on satellite on-orbit services, and comprehensively expanding on-orbit debris cleaning and on-orbit operation service capabilities. At present, Sanyuan Aerospace has completed the first round of independent financing, and has received support from Yuanhang Capital, Yinxinggu Capital and independent investors.
In the future, Emposat will devote more energy and manpower to provide services such as on-orbit support, on-orbit maintenance, and on-orbit life extension for satellites, Zhao Lei said.
